An intimate and personal portrait of Air Chief Marshall Sir John Allison, who discusses his career in the RAF, and his passion for recreational flying. During his life, he has flown 106 different types of powered aircraft from every era of aviation history, and his enthusiasm for flying has never waned. 

The story has a particular focus on his 1944 Taylorcraft J Auster Mk5, named Beauty, which he bought originally in 1975 for £600, later sold to help finance his children’s education, but was eventually able to find, repurchase, and meticulously restore at the age of 69, with the help of his son, James.
